Educational Resources:
We are delighted to share this very exciting resource from the University of Reading. These Key Stage 2 lesson plans use Ethel Carnie Holdsworth’s life and writing to provide an engaging starting point for exploring the experiences of working-class communities in Britain and in Lancashire’s cotton industry. The lessons show pupils how writing, performance and visual art can give a voice to overlooked communities, challenge injustice and encourage social change.
These resources were developed through collaboration between Professor Nicola Wilson and doctoral researcher Jenny Harper at the University of Reading, Jules Gibb of Mid Pennine Arts, and Andrea O’Niel of Intersect Education. The project brings together academic research and creative practice.

Walking with Radicals:
